Rosatom says sells Wyoming uranium mining unit to U.S. UEC

MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- Russian atomic energy company Rosatom’s uranium mining branch U1 has sold its U.S. subsidiary, Uranium One Americas (U1 Americas) to the United States’ Uranium Energy Corporation (UEC) for U.S. $131 million, Rosatom said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Uranium One (U1) has entered into an agreement with Uranium Energy Corp. of the United States to sell all shares of its subsidiary Uranium One Americas, Inc. The total amount of the transaction consists of $112 million in cash equivalent and $19 million in bond issues (with corresponding payments to Uranium One),” the statement read.

U1 Americas’ assets are located in Wyoming and include seven uranium mines in the Power River Basin and five mines in the Great Divide Basin, the company said.
